I'd go so far as to claim that the only BMC rider who could have won the Volta a Portugal this year is Cadel Evans.

prolly that. also i can tell you that blanco had better domestiques then evans has with his best bmc squad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOElN-pCujo&feature=related

watch untill andre cardoso takes over. thats a real super domestique.

and for those that said the tour of swiss is better and harder then the volta. they should look for gibo's opinion on the volta. he said something like the volta is too hard to be a preparation race. he was actually somewhat mad for the difficult of the race and said he would never return lol prolly wanted some tour down under kind of race . . . fail

Ok, but who are lux sending to the giro? I don't see a spectacular team going to that race... So is tosatto going to win them some stages? Come on...

I guess that makes all of us, ignorant little cretins!

You can step down from your high horse and stop shouting like the ignorant little kid you behave.
Every team you just mentions has a better team for the Giro than your BMC line-up.
Face-it, even in 2011 BMC is nothing besides the likes of Evans, perhaps Burghardt and the Ballan of a few years back.

GEOX can name 9 names that are probably better than that line-up, perhaps besides Tschopp that is.

At least they will send a team unlike some other team.... besides quite a lot of teams dont have a guy who can do well in a particular race for every race of the season... they just send a team.

We'll see how those guys go at the tour. The team wants fuglsang to help Andy at le tour. If he does the giro he will be ****ed for the tour and likewise with frank. Sorensen will go well and might win a stage.

So why aren't people getting stuck into other teams? Probably the main reason is because I become ultra sensitive about BMC so it is an easy target.

We have the TLR and theyoungest who I have had a history of arguing with, we have mellow Velo who will cal BMC phonak but won't do that to any other team, then we have the others who like to join in on the fun because who will go against the crowd?

Some teams are allround, others specialized (HTC, Geox, Movistar, Quick Step)
Perhaps BMC is more allround, except for their Grand Tour line-up.
All in all, the only thing that got them their ticket to the World Tour is their money and the network of Rhiis.
Not their team, compaired to others.

And some people don't join for fun.
They just can't stand ignorance

Maybe if you didn't get so sensitive about them, then people wouldn't lay into you so much??

All of this is subjective, the Giro is over 5 months away. No one on this forum really knows who will be riding it, let alone being able to name all 22 teams 9 man squads. BMC will not be alone in sending a second string (or third string) team to the Giro. To be honest I can only see the italians teams sending anything resembling their A list squads.

Fact is you can't send a team to every race that will have someone in it who is capable of winning.

So it seems pointless to argue whether Geox would send a better team to Giro than BMC and on the other side of the coin that BMC would have a stronget classics team than Geox.

Geox have built their squad with stage races and GT's in mind, where BMC (and at the risk of incurring ACF wrath) have built their team around the classics (Evans apart).

I personally think it is a shame that Geox did not get a licence, but I think they will still get invited to all the races that they want to go to so it shouldn't hurt them too much.

2008
Koldo Gil who was clearly on the decline
Mancebo coming back from a doping suspension.
A young dan martin (neo pro)
Ruben plaza who was coming back from a doping suspension that year.
Juan jose cobo who would of killed the competition if he had the form

2009
Very young Tiago Machado
Sinkewitz coming back from a doping suspension
Ruben Plaza who was riding for a very small team would of not raced in many significant races before then to get some sort of form.

2010
Sinkewitz and Vicioso were his only significant competition...wow!

Quite average competition.
don't understand comment about typing?

Probably a fair comment. I do get a bit heated about BMC but this does not mean others can't accept lame for being always a bit harsh on bmc just to annoy me.

Stop talking as if BMC had strong sprinters. Their sprinters are roughly on par with Footon's at best. Hell no, wait, Footon had better sprinters this year.

I agree with this. A number of teams will choose to send understrength squads to the Giro and, my guess is Team Lux will be a prime culprit.
My general point is that the GT organisers and the UCI are still quibbling over the numbers 17 and 18.
As a result, I believe we will see the same scenario as with RS, this year.

The team who really should be taking issue with this scheme, but appear ambivalent, is Cofidis.

Andrei Kasheskin was Lampre's leader this year, Damiano Cunego last year, to name but 2.
I don't think your lads come close to their calibre.
Next, you attack Blanco's age, but that can't be a factor unless you are prepared to write off the likes of Hincapie and Kroon.

I would check out Duarte's palmares, if I were you.

yes its not that hard to type Portugal correctly.

also ACF i like the way you analised those voltas. clearly you know nothing about the volta. i only hope libertine sees this as he can express himself much better then i can. if you read what he says your opinion might change. then again you clearly listen to no1 so. . .

Never have said that... Dom't make incorrect accusations without correct evidence.

BMC have kristoff, van avermaet and quinziato

Geox have...ummmmmm....ummmmm....ummmmm

To get away from the BMC Holy War a bit, Biciciclismo has a story this morning about the UCI preparing to announce a deal that gives all 18 World Tour teams guaranteed starts in all three GTs, over and above what McQuaid has said already.

If this is so, Geox will really have to pass through the eye of the needle to get GT starts, and a team like Pegasus will probably miss out entirely.

It's not difficult to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence either!

Point being you shouldn't need to resort to questioning people's typing in order to invalidate their argument.

Geox would only possibly struggle to get the Giro invite wouldn't they?

I guess that is a shame for pegasus, especially for mcewen.
