Out of interest was he clean or dirty when he came fourth in that prologue, against what looks at first glance as a pretty dirty top ten?

Err one thing to come top 5 on a stage. Another to win Paris nice another to win romandie another to win dauphine another to win the tdf with your teammate second, and no one else close, another to do all of the above in the same 5 month period.

Then smack the Olympic road TT.

The irony of his time gap to 5th place, Vinokourov's time gap to him in 2007 and your signature quote is too funny.

I searched, but did not get any hits for this particular article from Wiggo on The Clinic.

The main points are:

1. Wiggo's dedication to the road for 2006 / 7
2. Wiggo's aspirations for success in races in London: to lead the Tour in 2007 after winning the London TdF prologue, and a gold medal in London at the Olympic games in 2012
3. Oh yeah, and Millar's comeback getting the Wiggo seal of approval

Lofty aspirations indeed, Bradley. Lofty aspirations indeed.

Good of you to dig up this dormant thread with a totally pointless post.
Definitely needed another Sky thread to throw up a proper block against any unwanted non-Sky thread getting in the Clinic way.

Err, yeah, thanks.

So, do you think he was clean or dirty when he came fourth on that stage?

2 posts today with nothing but contempt for the clinic and its posters! Why post here as there are a myriad of other forums that have posters that swallow the BS that cycling has gotten clean?

IMO, if you believe Sky are clean, you would have no need to read never mind post in here. That posters do shows something is not right with their thinking, and you cant take that in a number of ways....

That Sky is getting the majority of attention is only Sky's fault. They proclaimed they were going to be transparent, do it different, no dodgy doctors or team staff, pay attention to the minutiae of the sport and be squeaky clean.

So far they have not been transparent, hired one of the best doping doctors and a host of ex dopers to staff the team, never mind riders who are or were dopers and then cried that they did not know they were dodgy riders.

walks like a duck..............

You are right in so far that I made two posts, today.
Not surprising that you chose to attack the one that didn't
pose a difficult question, to which there appears no logical answer.

Oh and it's not as if contempt is a rare commodity around here.

So you think he was doping in 2007 but on 'low-octane' stuff?

I don't know if he was doping. No more than I know if Indurain doped pre 1990's or if Ben Johnson doped before Seoul. It doesn't change what happened later.

Contempt for people who choose to forget what this sport's culture consists off, contempt for people who fail to see that nothing has changed in the sport except teams are more covert in their training. Contempt for people who fail to recognise that is needs monumental change from the top down to end a doping culture. Contempt for people who fail to see that all the enablers from the dark era are still in the sport and contempt for those who believe that these enablers are not going to change because a JV says it is no longer cool to dope or because a guy like Brailsford says they are going to be different.

The difficult question for those who choose to believe the sport has somehow become cleanER is how did that happen? There must be a point where those fans can point to that says this is the moment all those doping enablers realised the game was up and it is not worth the risk to dope riders so the culture died as those enablers didn't want to face the sanctions imposed on doping! Oh but wait there are no sanctions for a DS, a soignuer, a Doctor, a masseuse etc etc and the culture rolls on.

Your arguments are completely valid, but please excuse people who want to believe in change. They will respond better to reasoning than criticism. Took me longer to come to your way of thinking because it seemed counterintuitive to agree with someone with such myopic thinking.

Myopic would presume i have not looked at the arguments for a cleanER peloton. I have and those arguments are not backed up by seismic changes that would have necessitated such a change from doping being part of the fabric of the sport. The small change that has come in the sport is always after the horse has long bolted and teams have moved onto new methodology.

Believe in change all you want. But at least find a reason to believe in change and not from those who profit from the sport.

I completely agree with your views and am sure you have considered both sides. However your argument style can create the impression of blinkeredness and can create a desire to disagree, even though your arguments are hard to deny when considered in a calm manner.

Hitch I know you don't know whether or not he was doping in 2007 (or at any other time for that matter), and clearly when and if Wiggins has ever doped is simply a historical fact that isn't going to change dependent on an internet forum posters level of insight into the matter.

But I'm not asking if you know he was doping, I'm asking if you think, suspect or believe he was dirty or clean in 2007.

Weighing in ...

I know it's not cadence, but Wiggo's claiming to be back at his 2012 emaciated weight. The new rapid weight loss since P-R has come into play now. A change with the 'long slow' weight loss over the off season for the 2012 TdF. Could just be marking bunk. If true, seems like yet another changing Sky/Wiggo story (can only lose so much weight if gradual to maintain power, now can lose the weight in 1-2 months).

@festinaboy @PaulKimmage Someone needs to start asking direct questions about Telmisartan and thyroxine to @TeamSky -

Sky are being monitored by fans very closely. ;)

But yes, someone needs to start asking all the teams hard questions and not just Sky, but Valv, Contador, Hesjedal and plenty of others.

Surely if Wiggins suddenly gets his climbing legs back and wins the tour of cali it will make even the most devout skybot a bit uneasy.

Trentino missed on your Sky radar?
You obviously haven't seen the Cali startlist, either.

Not a fan of these long, flat days in the Giro?
Or nothing better to do.

My take on Wiggins quick weight loss?....Sky are warming him up as a fall back plan if it doesnt go Froome's way at the tour, there is a nice long TT for Wiggins to take time on people this year and some cobbled stages that Wiggins has just demostarated he can handle at Paris/Roubaix.....dark horse?....why not, he'd love to knife Froome in the back too.

I admit, I am pretty bored by that typical Irish/UK weather that is on tv and here in Holland. Feck it.

But, the following does annoy me, very much indeed:

Bradlly Woggins said:
"James Murdoch put this down as his second biggest race of the year that he wanted us to try and do well in after the Tour de France," Wiggins said of the deputy chief operating officer for News Corp., which owns team sponsors Sky and 21st Century Fox.

"I think that shows you the level that they hold this race in and how important it is for a company like that," he said. "They put it before every other race. So I think that shows it's important and why we're here with a strong team."
I mean, WTF? Tour of fecking California or the Giro? Come on. It is just like Liege, Sky have no respect for cycling, imho that is.

By the way, how will Sky Italia see this?

If they had cameras on bikes you could see the weight coming off as they ride.

...telmisartan allows your blood vessels to relax and widen. As this happens, the pressure within your blood vessels is reduced. This also makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.

Now I do like the Porte like side effects:

Side-effects are usually mild. They include feeling dizzy and stomach upset.
