So what do you do for a living?

Me? I used to be a boat builder, but until I got laid off in June, I'm now a full-time horticulture student.

I know somebody in Exeter who actually works in an off licence. Not sure which one he is working in now, but he was working in one in the Topsham Rd area IIRC.

I play with spreadsheets, contractor. My life is a never ending circle of stressful interviews and short term contracts. Evening student also, looking to try a different profession.

Unemployed. I used to work as a production manager/warehouse manager/inside sales/events coordinator for a cycling clothing company.

Oh would you guys be serious for 1 second.
I own a bike shop or rather it owns me.

I am being serious.

I work for a large European Telco. I make sure the Germans get their porn fast. Of course I also make sure they get Google, Yahoo, Games etc. fast but the Porn is what they really care about.

Where is your shop?

Semi-professional sports person ... which is really another way of saying "public servant". :)

Not the most stimulating or highest paid, but it gives me the ability to ride and ski during the week and has also resulted in me being seconded from my native NZ to Ottawa for the last 14 months ...

And besides, it beats my previous job - NZ General Manager for a major multinational ... paid really well, but riding my bike 6 times in 9 months isn't my idea of "work-life balance" ... :(

I had you pegged for someone else. I thought you might have been Kiwi Mike down at The Cyclery. Anyway, I am glad that you are enjoying both summer and winter in Ottawa and that you have achieved the balance that you were looking for.
