Who cares? All he's thinking now is how to pull a Pereiro.
Who's this generations Jens Voigt?

Abrahamsen maybe?(okay maybe he is more the Voigt of this edition and not generation, Pollitt might be obvious answer, but he is a TM)

He is currently 12th in the UCI and CQ rankings, and 13th in the PCS one. Only five teams other than his own have anyone rated higher than him in any of these.

If he is a clown, you must have a very low opinion of 95% of the professional peloton.
Based on attitude, not physical capacities on the bike.

The covid situation for riders in the peloton seems to be a tricky one. So if you're starting to feel better, and you've been cleared to race, but you're positive for covid, how are your colleagues going to feel when you start riding next to them?

Ayuso rode the '22 Vuelta with covid as well. Not everybody in the peloton was happy with that.
Nope. I mean if you think of a non-sporting workplace, if you showed up to work with a mild sniffle and confirmed covid, and told people you're viral load was low so it was OK, I don't think that would go over very well.

I mean for him personally this ironically is good as long as he doesn't have complications from this Covid-19 infection.

Ayuso is going to be fresh and in full shape for the 2024 Vuelta a Espana. Main-favorite depending on how soon Roglic is able to properly train for the race. Plus Mas who obviously rides himself in form for Spain at the Tour de France.

Ayuso won't be worn out from the Tour de France in Spain like potentially Rodriguez.

Question remains however: Was Ayuso fading already because of his illness? Or did he miss base and sharpness due to his early exit from the Dauphine?

It's no excuses however from here on. He needs to justify his ambition and fulfill his potential now. Everything else than 1st or 2nd at the 2024 Vuelta a Espana is a failure!

Arguably, since Roglic doesn't get any younger, Ayuso needs to be a Grand Tour winner this fall even!

It goes over well in healthcare now from managements perspective.

Depends on where you are talking about?

Where I work if you showed up with covid or the flu and tried to tell people you weren't very contagious while breathing all over them, it would be frowned upon and I am quite sure you would be sent packing home.

At least our management and others don’t care anymore. On a floor/unit level there’s of course people that care, management not so much.

Another reason why Ayuso really needs to deliver at the Vuelta just developed:

I'm an old guy (63) ... I remember fondly the good old days when I was a young office worker and my boss was a tyrant (not uncommon for the day). People worked there even with the flu --- scared to ask for a day off.

Still happens in other places. What sticks for us in the company I work for is we don’t have sick days, if we call in they just use our PTO hours. Then we can only call in sick 4 times in a rolling year before consequences start happening. Though if you’re super sick and let’s say call in today till Sunday that counts as one call in, just on the third day you need a doctors note.
