This sums it up very well. We do not know the full story yet and Cyclingnews handling of it with words such as "missing" "disappeared" is decidedly tabloid.

The money went into a fund, Brown has access, solicitor paid from that fund. There is no reason for either Kimmage or the solicitor to have access to that fund, in fact, for fairly obvious reasons it is better that they don't.

I'm sure over the next few days the full story will come out and everyones mind will be at rest. In the meantime CN have done a good job of "outing" a twitter pseudonym.

In all honesty. the absolutely horrific lack of journalistic integrity Daniel has shown in putting out this story has me to the point of leaving. Dim just improved Velorooms, and I like the guy. I think I'm done here.

+1, and I also donated (significantly). Interesting to me is the initial response the story evokes from some. MarkvW's is predictable, but Fran's ought not be. One would have thought she learnt her lesson some time ago. "Schadenfreude" shows she holds a bitter grudge, and expressing this so quickly is just not professional at all and an ongoing liability for team Sky. I look forward to see how she will deal with the impending Froome/Wiggo PR disaster coming her way shortly.

I think your criticism of CN is quite reasonable. But one media outlet--Cyclismas--has the whole story. And Cyclismas sat on that story, and still sits on that story.

"Cycling Journalism?"

They are mainly just a joke outlet. But they do try to have real stories in there. But I think that they just want to be taken as a joke.

Care to answer the question as to why you listed Lesli in your original post on the topic?

Come on Mark, spit it out: Why did you use Lesli's name in your original post? It cannot have been an accident and we all want to know why you libeled her by suggesting she took your money and used it fraudulently? Why did you do that Mark?

Come on Mark. It takes a person to special character to make up facts and then libel a person with them. Why did you do it?

I'm only asking because it can't be that you are simply a petty little man with no moral compass. That can't be it right? Please, defend yourself because you are leaving everyone here with the impression that you are something that nobody would want to be. Especially someone so very concerned with their anonymous Birotte shielding intertubes personality. Come on Mark, tell us why you defamed Lesli's name.

Why Mark, I never took you to be a coward. I'm truly disappointed in your conduct.

Well, I guess you just won't answer yet. Tell you what, can we agree that a man who makes up things and then defames a woman who in reality did nothing wrong with those things he made up, can we agree that a man like that has the character of a bucket of putrid human filth? Can we at least agree on that?

Look man, I am just asking why Mark defamed an innocent woman on these forums. If you want to make poo poo patties out of playdough, go ahead, don't let me stop you.

That's where I stand.

I donated twice. If necessary, I will donate double that total again.

Dave.

A true cycling fan. Dumped on by a corrupt sport, and coming back for more because the filthy cycling game is the only cycling game in town.

That's the attitude that keeps the UCI afloat.

I don't mean that as a personal attack. I'm guilty of that same thing to some level. It's just that I don't see any way that pro cycling will ever change, and I'm being fatalistic.

My donation did serve a useful purpose because it helped send a message to McDruggen to back off Kimmage.

When this all sorts out, if there is any money missing, Cyclismas ought to make good any missing money. They promoted this thing and they ought to stand behind it. It shouldn't work to blame all the misconduct on a business associate of some sort and abdicate all responsibility (even if the business associate turns out to be the sole cause of any missing money).

hold your horses.

This unsavoury business has nothing to do with cycling, corruption, UCI or doping. And you have consistently failed to realise it has nothing to do with Lesli Cohen and Cyclismas or Paul Kimmage, Andy Shen, Digger etc. None of these people had access to the account, all they did was set up the process and advertise it with the best of intentions (as demonstrably accepted by the cycling publics widespread support), or in Kimmages case be a somewhat unwilling beneficiary.

The entire issue rests with an individual, Aaron Brown, who just happens to have links to cyclismas. Brown might or might not be guilty of anything nefarious, suggestions have been made but it is yet unclear what has happened.

Whatever the case, the others are as unwitting as any of us. You should cease making aspersions against Lesli Cohen and cyclismas.

So it is the OFFICIAL position of Cycling News that the people who promoted this messed up fund on the Internet have no responsibility for it.

That is a STUPID position.

Not too much in the Vos thread though?

Are you sure this is about chivalry, or is it really just a continuation of the feud between you and Mark?

what on earth are you rabbiting on about? Are you somehow trying to infer I am now formulating the OFFICIAL position of CyclingNews? I'll be sure to ask Daniel for a pay rise next time I bump into him at the yacht club.

Mark, an INDIVIDUAL Aaron Brown appears to have absconded with the money. This appearance might or might not be true. What has this got to do with anybody that promoted the fund? It is certainly true though that the INDIVIDUAL Aaron Brown having access to the fund is regrettable, hindsight is a wonderful attribute isn't it.

Mark perhaps you should look more closely at who Paul Kimmage is asking for information about the fund. Is he asking Lesli Cohen? Is he asking Andy Chen? Has he cast aspersions about cyclismas or NYVelocity? Is he tweeting Digger_Forum demanding back his filthy lucre? No, he has inquired of the INDIVIDUAL Aaron Brown.
