Will he ride the ORR ? The parcours suits him better than MSR and dare I say almost as well as the WRR. He may be a bit tired by then though.
Yes. But no, the ORR route doesn't suit him as much as the WCRR route. It's pretty much one cobbled climb to Montmartre that will decide the race and it's only around 1 km long at around 6%. That's too short for Pog to get MVDP in trouble, imo.

I think his best chance of winning is attacking with Remco from afar and getting a gap to the others. Then hope that the limited domestiques per nation will make it hard to catch them. Then outsprint Remco to the line.

We all know Slovenia's team for the ORR will most probably be Pogacar, Roglic, Mohoric, and Tratnik, even if the course doesn't really suit Roglic, and Pogacar as the main leader.
Roglič isn't doing the Olympics. Pogačar is also on the fence. Mohorič and Tratnik both said they are going to be there. Mezgec also would like to go. This leaves only 1 spot open. If Pog wants to go it's his. Otherwise it's between Govekar and Novak. Also it's already confirmed that Tratnik is doing the OG ITT.
E: Just checked, Slovenia has 5 spots for OG. So Both Novak and Govekar should be in. But there's also Glivar. We will see who Murn picks.

Oh really? Must've missed the news where Roglic said he's not doing Olympics. Unless Pog is too tired after Giro-Tour, I think he's certain to go.

It comes from the inverview that head coach Uroš Murn did back in March. He spoke about the goals for this season and explained that WCH is their main target not the OG. He also said that Roglič will not defend his gold from Tokyo and Tratnik will replace him. There were questions about why Pogačar won't race the ITT and he said that it's too soon after the Tour from him to be competitive on that parkour. He also said that WCH will have the strongest team, likely with both Pog and Rog. Pog is a guarantee, Roglič is not sure, depending on what he does in the Tour. Here's a link to one of the articles in slovene.

It’s kind of ludicrous how far superior he is to the rest of this GC field that every time he has attacked on an actual mountain he has immediately opened a gap that was never closed.

If Martínez has an off day tomorrow or Grappa on Saturday then Pogi will win by 10 minutes without even needing to put in another real effort.
It doesn't hurt Pogacar's strategy that everyone has conceded victory to him since week 1. There is scarcely a ripple in the front group when he gets out of the saddle; that's ludicrous. And then some of them, who rode on stacked teams in the past that crushed everyone; have the temerity to suggest Pogacar is "on another planet" .
The Tour will be interesting if this Giro ends on Tadej's terms. Fans on other threads have gone full nuclear because their favorite rider is actually training...on a bike and will surely crush Pogacar.

Lol. Never seen anything quite like this. Its not 1, not 2, but 3 levels above everybody else. This is peak Pogi against a bad field.

Its freaking comedy. I'd wish his team was better so he just could stamp his authority again, because honestly, its marginal who much harder that would have been on a day like this

So another Z4 interval as a preparation for the Tour. We will see the effects of Giro training in July!
He'd have to make up for it on Grabba. Zone 2 into two blocks of zone 4 for 20 minutes, because he couldn't have been riding zone 4 for more than 3 minutes on that final climb. Can't lose the form leading up to the Tour

A total of 40 minutes zone 4 equals 4 minutes in this field.

Teddy will lap the field after Z4 sessions on both Monte Grappa climbs.

Are people expecting him to be better here or at the Tour this year? If he is really doing all Zone 2 with a couple intervals like everyone is saying then we should expect an even stronger version at the Tour. But if he loses steam and struggles it will somehow be the same Z2 folks saying it was inevitable.

There were some jokes involved but today's difference was striking: he was basically in upright position, looked completely effortess as if he didn't want to gap the rest but still did it.

And no, I don't believe Giro "training" will make his stronger - it's the opposite. While I believe he will start the Tour in a very good form to me the big question is: will he keep his form till the end of the Tour? I have doubts.

He won’t be as good for the full 3 weeks of the Tour as he is here.

We shall see, kuss looked great in vuelta last year.maybe we are coming into era, where double is gonna be bets preparation for GTs.But you gotta be maniac.

Kuss is a weird guy. He looks like an amateur compared to Pog in March, he needs GTs to ride himself into form.
OTOH we have Pogacar, who's been crushing his rivals since early spring, no steady peak building, no form reset period, no nothing. How he's gonna keep his best till the end of the Tour? I have on idea.
