Phinney 5 minutes down. His career is over.

Oh c'mon man. He never hyped himself up. Fans did.

He made an extraordinary return to racing after his injury.

Maybe he's just a different type of rider now.

So the best Time Trialist of century beats the best Time Trialist of the year. Great race, great winner.

Dumoulin congratulating Cancellara before collapsing, classy.

Dumoulin lost 14 seconds to Cancellara in final segment. Opening for Froome?

Almost lost bronze in the end

Should be noted that the Olympics were two weeks earlier in 2012, so a Tour peak was more likely to carry you to victory

So this Cancellare who is no longer focusing on time trials, right? Go figure.

Just stop this bull ***.

He's one of the Greatest TT of all time. He won't lose his TT ability .

Once he focuses on an event there's no stopping him.

Tears for Fabian. What a legend!

Dumoulin crushed after silver but amazing ride with broken bone.

Such a shame for Castroviejo. This medal would have meant a world for him, much more than for Froome...

Nelsinho 7th, repeats Ponferrada result. :)

Had huge hopes for Nelson considering his Pont d'Arc TT and Dumoulin's injury. Misplaced I guess, but a strong showing nonetheless.

A medal was never going to happen. I was hoping for atop five. Oh well, maybe next time.

I think he lost most of his time on the climbs. On the flatter sections he was one of the fastest.

Nice race. Deserved winner.

"What if" - rants to assume soon in some thread.

If not for the rain in the start, I'm pretty sure Dan from Nam would'ave won it!

Amazing from Cance! Nice celebration pictures as well! I know this is the perfect way to end his career, but I still really want him to go for another gold in the WC ITT.

I just wondered what Cance did to poor Kreuziger or Koenig. :surprised:
Then I realized he has beaten Styby in Strade.

Froome just about gets a medal, Castroviejo finished very strongly, just not quite enough to get to the podium.
