Skil is project IT41.Morbius said:There are 18 teams listed, with only Garmin to be added, so it looks like only one team will miss out
Edit: I can't see Movistar or Skil - so there are more teams to be added
Nicosix said:There are no Movistar, Garmin or Geox.
From now on in the first list only two teams are going to commission : Euskaltel and Ag2R since they are not in the top 15.
The others would have their renewal automatically confirmed if there are no irregularity.
In the second list they all are going in front of the commission.
So basically the UCI tells us they will choose whoever they want and that the UCI ranking is worthless![]()
EDIT EDIT: And based on Nicosix's rankings, it'd be a case of 6 teams fighting out for 3 spots:
Katusha
FDJ
Ag2r
Euskaltel
Europcar
Skil
Praetor said:Why would they really deserve it?
They keep proving that, without Kittel, they don't amount to anything and are a worthless addition to the World Tour, the Tour de France of 2009 was downright embarrassing.
Skil is Kittel, Degenkolb and then nothing. Okay, perhaps Veelers is okay as a leadout for Kittel.
AussieGoddess said:ok so - teams that have a licence
1 - Astana
2 - BMC
3 - Lampre
4 - Liquigas
5 - Rabobank
6 - Radioshack-Nissan
7 - Sky
8 - Vacansoleil
Assuming that the others get their paperwork in, teams that are most likely safe
9 - Garmin (4th ranking)
10 - Saxobank Sungard (12th ranking)
11 - Greenedge (no way UCI will not approve)
12 - Omega-Pharma Quickstep (10th ranking)
13 - Movistar (9th ranking)
I would suggest that the following will get through based on past performance / sponsorship / popularity / cycling promotion etc
14 - Lotto-Ridley
15 - Euskatel
and we are left with 3 spots between
- FDJ
- Europcar
- Skil / It41
- AG2R
- Katusha
- Geox
Given that Geox couldnt get one last year, personally I dont think they will get one this year either.
given there are no french teams, I would suggest that at least one, if not 2 of the french teams will get a gig, and given FDJ and AG2R are the only inside the top 20 (we think) I will have a guess at
- AG2R
- Katusha
- FDJ
LukeSchmid said:This looks good, but if Nicosix's list is correct, although new signing will change things, Geox is going to make the top 15 and automatically get a license. If this is case then only 3 of Ag2r, FDJ, Katusha and Euskatel can get a license.
Dutchsmurf said:You don't get a license just by finishing in the top 15 though. Finishing in the top 15 is what you need to do to keep your license.
Also that list makes far too much sense, so we can be sure it won't happen that way.
