Armstrong helped Floyd set up the FFF. Armstrong even asked members of the Century Tailwind club to donate. The money in the FFF barely came from Joe Smoes like us. It came from big time investors who thought they'd help Floyd out because Lance said so. Floyd won't be going down for this.

Again, where is this information coming from?

Exactly.

I can't help but thinking that Flandis is a whole less crazier (and potentially a whole lot craftier) than he's given credit for...

Pardon the butchery of grammar, I don't want Mac coming down on me with a lesson

Crazy or crafty may not be the correct choices in the multiple choice question here.

1. Goes to the Tour, we are now told, fully jacked, on the complete program.
2. Gets busted for testosterone.
3. Claims persecution, some kinda agenda, goes on every media outlet proclaiming innocence.
4. Fights his suspension with every tool at his disposal legally and otherwise.
5. sets up internet funding website to help with his innocence project.
5a. Makes a pathetic comeback on the bicycle, rides Battenkill.
6. Tries to get a ride on Bruyneel's team. Bruyneel and Lance wisely say no. 7. Tries to get entry into TOur of California and the organizers say no.
8. THreatens and tries to blackmail Lance and Bruyneel AS HE DID WITH GREG LEMOND about his childhood sexual abuse WHEN GREG wouldnt play along with him. Witness intimidation? Hello?!?!?
9. THen has a sudden change of heart and confesses to doping.
10. Implausibly and completely untruthfully claims he didnt do any testosterone in the Tour despite hard evidence that he did.
11. Drops a dime on Lance and Bruyneel for purely vindictive retribution plain and simple either 1. correctly claiming he know about their doping, dropping a dime on the guys who gave him his big shot at pro cycling or 2. falsely accusing them of things they never had done. Either way, a complete and total sh#tweasal.

Highlights reel:
Midnight drunk tweets
Race to the bottom
Fake twitter to harass Lance and Johan
threats to Greg and Lance (puts him in a unique category)

Summary: manipulative, unreliable, untruthful, exploitative, unpredictable, lies cheats and threatens as a pattern, sounds more like a sociopath to me.

The situation you describe above is owing to Pat & Hein, not to Lance, not to Floyd.
Floyd got jacked off by Pat&Hein, not by Lance. Floyd realizes that.
Floyd is grinding his axe mainly with Hein/Pat.
That Floyd drags LA down in the soup is merely circumstantial to Floyd.
Collateral damage. Unavoidable at the same time. Not Lance's fault, not Floyd's fault: Hein's fault.

Main point: Floyd has all the right in the world to grind his axe with Hein/Pat.

By the way, you seem to ignore that Floyd gave LA the chance to come clean, and to help Floyd in bringing Hein down.
Lance refused the offer. Unwisely.

you're right.

However, I did say that Floyd offered LA the chance to jump on board (or to jump ship, depending on the perspective).
By refusing the offer, LA left Floyd no choice but to bring LA down.
Bringing down Lance is now inherent to Floyd's ultimate objective: justice, with a flavor of (well-deserved) revenge.

Was the offer towards LA to come clean an explicit or implicit one, when FL first let it be known he was planning to come clean, and then annouced to be coming clean? At what stage was the door open for LA to jump on board and "do this"?
I realized, Lance could have come clean before he got his first T shot. "Oh, I am so talented in tri but that scary trainer offered to shoot me up for good measure anyway, help!". But where did he have a chance to avoid being Floyd's target?
I am not evven sure re-signing by JB would have kept him silent in the long run. The guy wanted to ride at his own level, and had lied against his preference before. It's easier to keep lying when you're doing great racing around the globe. But it's not a permanent situation, at least not for a person like Floyd. I don't believe that.
And had Floyd come clean after a few more years of racing, he'd still have a hard time to keep his buddy Lance off the hook. I don't see how Floyd could pull a Thomas Dekker, and just tell his own story, while preserving omerta.

It is not our job to do your research for you. Could you get back on topic?

Ummm if you post ridiculous things and then refuse to cite the source and reliability of the source, it is the topic of this thread. THe campaign against Lance conducted by Landis. If the FFF was funded by Lance's friends, just let everyone know this information. It is central to the topic.

I'm not about to read this whole stupid article again but it seems like the FFF was mentioned somewhere towards the back...

if not, happy reading anyway.

I actually find the trolls quite entertaining. Like that Polish bloke singing "We Are the Champions" while the ship goes down. I can picture him wearing a sauce pan for a hat.

Polish provides the John Stewart counterpoint for the more rabid Lance haters, to be sure. I think he's jerking most everyone's chain and it's good to have some entertainment since none of us are involved in what's actually happening. Just like Lance.

Polish is good in his lucid moments:)

Many of the others are rather tiresome, simply argumentative trolls or Livestrong interns, but Polish brings entertainment value.

LMAO at the visualisation of Polish, as you describe..... but it MUST be yellow, and personally endorsed by the Uniballer.

Also one must admire Polish's efforts at to push the line on suspension territory, but not overstep the mark.

Just because you have been holed up in a cave with your hands clutched over your ears so that you do not hear any bad new about Lance does not mean that the rest of us should be required to search the common news sources for you when you finally decide that you missed something important.

Since people like you ignore all the evidence anyway, it is a fool's errand to present you with the facts. Console yourself with the fantasy that Floyd tried to "blackmail" Lance.

of course, i agree.
I just think that bringing down Lance was never Floyd's primary goal.
Taking out Lance was/is just an unavoidable step on the way to Floyd's self-purification.

Yes, Polish's troll work is incredibly admirable here on this site, and adds to the content being discussed almost 100% of the time.

Give me a break. I'll never understand tolerating someone like him, and less so endorsing him as if he's some kind of comedian.

He tolerates me, I tolerate you....our opinions are cheap and fun is good.

The dead tree version of Velonews has a few choice quotes by Lance about the investigation.

"This is going to kill cycling."

"If cycling goes away tomorrow, i will be completely fine. And that's the irony of all this."

So exposing his cheating will destroy cycling but he could not care less. It is funny to see a man who never cared one bit about the sport using the sport as a reason why the truth should not be revealed.

Don't worry about cycling: cycling will be fine after you're gone and forgotten just like it was before you were born. Worry about yourself.

I concluded by his posts and avatar and the fact he sails so close to the wind or oversteps the mark that he was tolerated and granted latitude as the harmless "village idiot*".

*Wikipedia
The village idiot in strict terms is a person locally known for ignorance or stupidity, but is also a common term for a stereotypically silly or nonsensical person. The term is also used as a stereotype of the mentally disabled. It has also been applied as an epithet for an unrealistically optimistic individual.

The village idiot was long considered an acceptable social role, a unique individual who was dependent yet contributed to the social fabric of his community. All societies eventually develop such a role, or force an individual into that role. As early as Byzantine times, the village idiot was treated as an acceptable form of deranged individual.
