Been done three times in Dauphine too.Eagle said:Only the 3rd time it's been climbed, will be interesting to see his w/kg, after such a hard day racing still very impressive

Tour de France — La Toussuire (17.67 km) | #TDF2015
2006 | Carlos Sastre 44:52
2012 | Thibaut Pinot 45:05
2015 | Nairo Quintana 44:30
Not grimacing for two weeks gives you an extra 50 watts in the third week.SeriousSam said:I'm waiting for some brand new accounts insisting that Quintana is clean because of rounder wheels or oval chain rings. Or perhaps Quintana did inferior w/kg than Froome today but won anyway.
Where are they?

Now that the other teams have learnt how to lower their watts as well, Sky is in trouble.meat puppet said:why, quintana is toooo-tally cleans of course. it is just astonishing that he has risen to stardom from the cycling hinterlands, what with no proper training and guidance.
also remember that it was froome who was dropped, which in sky logic simply means that he put out more power/kg than quintana did.
Wow, crazy performanceharryh said:Eagle said:Only the 3rd time it's been climbed, will be interesting to see his w/kg, after such a hard day racing still very impressive
Obviously well over 6W/kg: http://www.chronoswatts.com/watts/39/Toussuire
LOLZ. Yeah, Colombian climber on a Spanish team. Do they even have bikes there? Or hills?meat puppet said:it is just astonishing that he has risen to stardom from the cycling hinterlands, what with no proper training and guidance.
A little disagreement here. Gesink and Pinot's PMs should help. https://twitter.com/ammattipyoraily/status/624617169079263235Eagle said:Wow, crazy performanceharryh said:Eagle said:Only the 3rd time it's been climbed, will be interesting to see his w/kg, after such a hard day racing still very impressive

Hills doesn't help when you can only afford to go downhill.carton said:LOLZ. Yeah, Colombian climber on a Spanish team. Do they even have bikes there? Might have been a tailwind vs headwind, still impressive considering the way the stage was riddencarton said:A little disagreement here. I think vetooo and chronoswatts use a different formula in watts estimates. This should explain the discrepancy. Vetooo also had Wiggins 2012 44:58 La Toussuire around 5,6w/kg if my memory serves, which would be quite consistent with a 5,7w/kg figure he proposed.carton said:A little disagreement here. I have 6 watts / kg for that climb. Nowhere near the 6.25 that you have. It is the drafting a size that made the big difference. You have to account for that!!!bigcog said:http://www.chronoswatts.com/watts/19/

Why hasn't this ET performance been mentioned ? lol

I get the 6.25 w/kg without the drafting. But you have to take that into account!bigcog said:Escarabajo said:I have 6 watts / kg for that climb. Nowhere near the 6.25 that you have. Around 70% drafting. Assume some slight headwind:
5.58 Watts / Kg
5.66 Watts/ Kg (Ferrari's formula)

Let's wait for the power meter readings for calibration.roundabout said:Escarabajo said:Quintana:

Toussuire is quite an irregular climb for the purposes of using VAM.
